Many Kids are usually fond of video games and their parents buy new game for them time to time. But playing video game may be the cause of addiction for kids. According to a new research by Dr Douglas Gentile just about 1 in 10 kids, who play video games got classic signs of addiction like:
- Lying about the habit
- Failing in efforts to cut back
- Stealing money to buy new game
- Stealing a game from others
- Skipping chores and homework
- Poor homework performance
- Get poorer grades in school
- Playing games to escape problems
- Thinking about games
- More health problems
- Planning the next opportunity for game
- Trying to play less and failing
- Restlessness
- Irritability as soon as trying to reduce or stop playing
- Lying about play time
For the survey, around 1,200 kids all over the USA were considered and their ages were 8 to 18. The survey discovered 88% of US children played some video games at least occasionally, while on average kids play more than 13 hours of video games per week. The study said 8.5 percent of the kids who played got at least 6 addictive symptoms.
