Around five millions of lunchboxes are prepared in British homes every weekday. However, the Food Standard Agency made a survey and found out that, about three out of four of these lunchbox contains food with high fat, high sugar and high salt. The very same survey pointed out that, half of these lunchboxes are filled to include any kind of fruits and the rest of the menu of the box are crisps, chocolate, biscuits, sugary drinks and other heavily processed snacks.

Research shows that, food that is high with fat, sugar, and also high in carbohydrates decreases the mental alertness of a child, so children eating these kind of foods are easily get tired before the end of the day. As we also know that food that contains high fat, sugar and salt can lead to heart disease. And that is why it’s very important to have healthy lunch for the kids. I’m going to discuss how you can provide the proper diet for lunch to your kids.

Making the fruits fun to eat
Most of the kids want to spend the maximum time on the playground and that is why they want something quick to refuel. For this very reason you will find lots of children leaving their food in to the lunchbox. The thing you should do is, peal the fruits and cover it up with a wrapper. Also, make bite-size pieces of the fruit so they can easily and quickly eat it.

Reduce the amount of salt
yeh, less salt is fine.. but don’t stop it.. as it contains Iodine which helps for child growth.

Ask the child
It is very important to talk with your children about the food. Ask your child what they like for the lunch, check what they have not eaten and enquire about it but do not be defensive about it.

Fresh food
The sliced vegetables may get rotten. So, keeping the veggies moisture, wrap them with plastic wrapping paper.

Avoid the junk food
Junk food is the most favorite food for the children’s. So, it is very hard to cut out the junk food from the child’s diet. If ur kid asks something that contains high sugar, salt or fat, don’t give them the whole pack. Just give covered with a wrapper/

Make the lunchbox interesting
Add some of your special personal touch in the lunchbox. Surprise them with a note or put some nice treat on the last subbox of the lunchbox. Decorate the lunchbox with stickers and whatever you can.

These are some basic way that you should try to make your kids lunchbox fun. Make sure that your kids are provided with the nutrition properly.

Every weekday, British people are preparing nearly five million kid’s lunch boxes at home. But a Food Standards Agency’s recent survey said three out of four of those were likely to have foods that contained too high in saturated fat, sugar and salt. Survey report revealed 45% of students like to get a packed lunch than others like school meal.

Another survey considered around 1,500 parents and revealed most of the parents involve deciding the kids’ lunchbox items. However, 93% of them said they ask their kids’ opinions before choosing their diets. They said they spent more than three minutes per day to evaluate the nutritional content in their kids’ menu.

At the time of preparing healthy diet parent should provide some things like:

One third of any kid’s daily requirements of nutrients

Source of protein to keep kids alert

Complex carbohydrates for slow-release energy

Calcium for growth, healthy bones and strong teeth

Plenty of fruits and vegetables for vitamins and minerals

If you can ensure those then your kids get proper nutrition for their health.
